From 16.04. until the start of the season in Doha, I am with the national team of javelin throwers in the training camp in Portugal. Mild temperatures and good training conditions attract us almost every year to the Algarve coast.
Start of fine-tuning in training camp in Portugal
In the time frame of 2 weeks training stay in the warm, the art is to optimally fill the time with training content. Set accents and integrate recovery to the right extent. Thus units alternate with the spear, with which general kind usually.
In the morning we prepare the body almost daily for the more special strains of the afternoon sessions. This includes general abdominal back exercises, rhythm training and running exercises in the program. During TRX training (picture left) we specifically address the small muscles that are strained during the mud training. Litter optimization and injury prophylaxis in a way so to speak. Creativity and intensity are limitless. An exercise variant in dynamic support you will find in my last

Throwing in Villa Real de Santo Antonio
We will complete throwing sessions in the stadium to adapt to the optical conditions of the competition stages of the 2018 season. Whether from a short start, or in over speed training – it is always about hitting the javelin optimally!
Season opening in Doha
With good memories from 2017 I will start my 2018 season in Doha. More specifically, on the evening of the 4th of May. In addition to the goal to collect points in the Diamond League, of course, is also a solid start distance on the lists.
You can find the current start list for the competition in the desert state here.
Besides track photography
Those who train a lot and intensively have to recover mentally as well. How many do know, I search for quiet places in nature. Surrounded by golf courses and a thrilling coast, the Algarve offers me optimal conditions to pursue my hobby of photography. Of course, my new set of Zeiss Batis optics will also be on hand to be able to play with detail and light.
