Thanks to the wildcard, I was allowed to be part of the European Championships 2022 despite the ongoing problems and effects of the injury from 2021. A successful event overall, which showed that our sport is still able to fill large arenas in Germany.
For me personally, it was another important step towards a slow comeback in the direction of 2024. In the weeks before the championships, we were able to achieve throwing loads and training volumes that had not been possible for a long time. It is now necessary to persevere in this constant process and to achieve training success step by step.
So it’s back to training for me and get to the throwing implements until it gets too cold for us to throw javelins. Then it’s time for training camps and ball throws as an alternative program.
All in all, I’m looking forward to the long training period in order to get a step closer to the goal of 2024 in a level-headed and effective way!
